April Marquardt, O.D., M.D. (Rheumatologist)

Providers in LVSCC represent the industry’s elite and Dr. April Marquardt is no exception. As an alumnus from Ohio State University, she received both her O.D. (Doctor of Optometry) and MD degrees as well as completed an Internal Medicine Residency and Rheumatology Fellowship. Dr. Marquardt has received numerous accolades through her academic career which include becoming a member of Alpha Omega Alpha and an invited lecturer at local, regional and national conferences. Dr. Marquardt is also certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Rheumatology.

When asked why she pursued her specialty, Dr. Marquardt answered, “Rheumatology allows me to establish long-term relationships with patients and their families.” As a Board Certified Rheumatologist, she is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of people with arthritis and related autoimmune diseases.  She is able to treat and diagnose a wide variety of rheumatologic conditions such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Lupus, Psoriatic Arthritis, Gout, Fibromyalgia and has a particular interest in autoimmune eye diseases.

Educating her patients of their disease is a top priority for Dr. Marquardt. She believes, “education is important in a patient’s understanding of their disease, so that their disease does not control them”. Dr. Marquardt is married and has three young children. She loves to spend time with her family and also enjoys a hobby of portrait photography.
